LISA VOGT
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” – Dalai Lama
Hello! I’m Lisa Vogt, owner of Haute Yoga Colorado. For me the key to yoga is compassion. I came to yoga to help with stress and professional burnout. What I found was a supportive community that didn’t ask questions, didn’t demand answers. They were there to help me heal mentally. Great yoga teachers live compassion and I believe, they have helped me live it too.
After retiring from teaching high school social studies and special education for 32 years, I became a certified yoga instructor in both Hot Vinyasa and “Bikram-style” yoga. I decided it was time to share my love of yoga by opening my own studio where I can help others heal and strengthen their bodies and minds while facilitating inner peace.
I love helping new students realize the benefits of a regular yoga practice as well as guiding seasoned practitioners as they continue their yoga journey. In my class I encourage people to have fun and enjoy the experience. Yoga is not about mastering a pose, it is about loving yourself and being glad you came. Can’t wait to meet you.
ASHLEY MATTHEWS
“The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” – B.B. King
I will always be a student first, teacher second. I have been practicing yoga for twelve years and teaching for six. For me, yoga started as a form of stress relief, it was a place to shake off the day, more accurately, to give attention to my past injuries and to become sensitive to the subtle movements of my body.
When I am not teaching, I love spending my time Latin dancing, baking, or writing a poem somewhere in the woods. I live in Lafayette and enjoy being able to learn and share what I know with my community.
My adventurous spirit has taken me to many different and wonderful places. I spent three years of my life traveling where I was able to broaden my cultural understanding of homeostasis.
In my class you will find a welcoming atmosphere where yoga is accessible for everyone who attends.
CORRIE ABRAHAMS
“The only thing I know for sure, is that I know nothing at all, for sure.” – Socrates
Hi everyone. I’m Corrie. I arrived in Colorado several months back from sunny California. I was just passing through when the universe provided me the opportunity to settle down right here.
I found yoga when a good friend encouraged me to try a hot yoga class in 2010. Despite what many people think, hot yoga is a real challenge but I became hooked after just one class. Yoga provided a space for me to find daily peace, a place that was just for me. I got what I put in, and I put in a lot. Eventually, my practice was nonnegotiable. My friends and family quickly adjusted to my new way of life; my self-care came first.
I believe a consistent yoga practice not only changes our bodies but more importantly, our minds. By having a dedicated yoga practice I learned discipline, patience, and I also received a huge boost in confidence.
In my class you will learn to connect your mind and body to your breath. I will provide the dialog, and support needed to have a successful yoga practice. The results of your class will depend on the compassion you offer yourself and the effort you put in.
Sorry, I am on maternity leave. Be back soon 🙂
MAGALY BRITO
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” – Henry Ford
Hi, I’m Magaly. I started teaching at Haute Yoga Colorado in July 2021. I have been practicing with the studio since February 2021 and finished my 200 hour teacher training program with The Hot Room Leadership Institute.
I began practicing yoga when I started to feel unhealthy. My energy level was low and I had limited flexibility. A new original hot yoga studio opened up just five minutes from my home and a friend of mine suggested I give it a try. My very first class was a hot 90 and I have to admit, it was tough. But, I immediately fell in love with the practice and how it made me feel afterwards.
Currently you can find me teaching Haute 60 and Inferno Haute Pilates. I would describe my class as rigorous, like a long hike, where the views at the top are so worth the sweat and hard work it takes to get there. While in my class, you will be guided through the proper setup and alignment of the postures. This will help you deepen your practice and get the most benefit from it.
PAIGE GRIFFITH
“`We can do hard things.” – Glennon Doyle
Hi my name is Paige. During my junior season of college volleyball, my coach added yoga to our weekly practice schedule to encourage wellness and aid in recovery. Our Baptiste yoga instructor came every week, and even though didn’t realize I was falling in love with yoga, I was very attracted to the benefits it provided me.
After my senior year ofvolleyball, I was looking for a way to stay in shape and to find rest and stillness. I started attending my home studio in Iowa as often as I could. That led me to teacher training, and the rest is history.
Yoga gave me a safe space to just be. I am naturally a very busy minded person, so the connection to breath, the sweating, and the time away from all the hard things in life was exactly what I needed. I think the practice of setting an intention and making the physical practice of yoga more than just movement got me hooked!
In my class you will set an intention, breathe, move, sweat, lift some weights, and meditate. Each class is
built around a sequence of traditional poses that can be done with or without weights.
AMANDA MEADER
Hi! I’m Amanda Meader and I am honored and excited to be a part of Lisa’s Haute Yoga Studio!
My passion for health and fitness led me, 16 years ago, to become a certified fitness instructor. Employed as an IBM Project Manager for the past 20 years, I needed another outlet physically as well as mentally. After my introduction to Hot Yoga in 2004, I was hooked!
I am inspired by the mental and physical challenges yoga provides, along with the spiritual/intellectual clarity possible through practice. With my newfound passion for Hot Yoga, I wanted to take it deeper and share it with others. With my newfound passion for Yoga, I wanted to take it deeper and share it with others; as a result, I completed my 200-hour teaching training in 2015. For the past five years I have taught primarily Bikram Style Hot Yoga and Baptiste Style Power Yoga. Through teaching I came to understand my practice better and recognized the need to impart to my students the idea that yoga is more than simply a physical activity, while at the same time providing them genuine inspiration. To achieve these new goals, in 2020, I embarked on and completed my 300-hour journey with Gina Caputo’s Integrated Vinyasa™ Yoga at the Colorado School of Yoga.
I enjoy sharing my love for yoga by instructing compassionately with an added athletic style. With my health and fitness background, I believe it’s important to not only reveal and emphasize the proper form and alignment of a posture, but the mechanics behind it.
I strive to provide a class where my students feel challenged yet in control, so what they learn on their mat empowers them to take on anything they face off the mat! I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes soon!
JENNIFER MERRICK
“Be kind to past versions of yourself that didn’t know the things you know now.”
I’m Jennifer. You could say I am a “work hard and play harder” person. I constantly challenge myself. It has provided me with many great adventures but has also resulted in career burn out and multiple injuries.
I looked to yoga for a kinder workout, however, I didn’t fully understand how much yoga can actually do for my mind and body if I just let it. With regular practice and using proper alignment, I started to see changes and even reversed some of the damage I had caused from “physical” training. Yoga has allowed me to move forward in so many aspects in my life, and being in less pain has reinvigorated my commitment to wellness.
In 2020, I started to look at life differently. I deepened my yoga practice and committed myself to fulfilling my professional goals. In December of 2021, I completed a rigorous (shocking) 3-week program to get my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Costa Rica. It was an experience of a lifetime. I want to share what I learned with others, who like me, sat behind a desk for decades without taking proper care of ourselves.
In my class you will form good life habits and grow confidently in your practice. My hope is that you will learn something new to take away every time you show up on your mat.
KATIE VILLALOBOS
“Fall in love with taking care of yourself; mind, body and spirit.”
I started a regular yoga practice because of my line of work. After 20 years in the beauty business, 11 years as an owner, it started to take a toll on my body. I hoped yoga would help correct those issues. Little did I know the effect it would have on me mentally. The reason I started practicing yoga and the reason I continue to practice are completely different. The mental clarity I have after I practice keeps me coming back!
I completed my Ashtanga Hatha Flow training in beautiful Costa Rica and it was even more magical than any expectations I had. Quickly, it turned into one of the most pivotal, life changing experiences of my life.
I try to bring that same spiritual connection to each of my classes, focusing on the mind and the mental clarity that comes with it! One of my favorite questions is “why?” Always be curious. Be curious to figure out “your why”. I am excited to see where this path takes me, and the opportunities the universe will open up for me.
MOLLY WILLIAMS
“Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans.” – John Lennon
I grew up with yoga. My mother is a yoga instructor so I practiced vinyasa style yoga from an early age. In 2015 I was introduced to hot vinyasa and Bikram style yoga and fell in love. Throughout college, I taught hot vinyasa while completing a Hot 60, BikYasa, Rocket yoga, and Buti trainings.
Yoga to me, starts in the now. It is a practice to discover who we truly are without judgement or attachment. Going to yoga class is important to me when things get difficult or busy off my mat. Having a safe space to come to, like a yoga class, decreases stress and anxiety and reminds me to be present.
I also love trying new things within my practice, whether it is a different variation of the familiar, holding a little longer, kicking a little higher, or a new sequence. It is important to incorporate play and exploration within your physical practice. I love finding ways to use props and modifications to make yoga more accessible and safer for all students.
ASHTEN VOGELSBERG
You are on a journey removing the conditioning laid upon us by society; the false ideas about ourselves that we’ve let yourself believe as truth.”
I started practicing yoga after years of distance running which was slowly destroying my body, I needed to find a practice that I could sustain for the rest of my life. There was a Bikram studio by my university, so I decided to give it a try. I was hooked after the first class.
After my first traditional hot 90 class, I felt reborn. I was energized despite how hard I pushed myself. It was so excited to take my body to depths beyond where I thought I was capable. Each class taught me more about my own body and helped me develop a solid 90-minute practice where I could slow down and take a time out from the fast-paced world.
In my class you will push your mind and body and explore the edges of what you think you are capable of
I believe that the universe gives us exactly what we need, when we need it. It’s up to us to pay attention to the gifts the universe gives us.
